Ms Charlotte Heaphey (right) from Trim, Co. Meath, who had a 36 year smoking history and heart attack at aged 47 and Mr Roy Barton from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford who had a 45 year smoking history and was diagnosed with lung cancer aged 61 are pictured outside Dáil Éireann as the Irish Cancer Society and Irish Heart Foundation join forces to launch their ‘Nail in the Coffin’ pre-budget submission calling on the Government to increase the price of tobacco, increase tobacco revenue, reduce smoking rates and ring fence budget for tobacco control.
